How to have a balanced diet without sugar?

Sugar is by no means essential to a balanced diet and it is therefore beneficial to do without it. A balanced diet without sugar consists of vegetables, protein sources (meat, fish, eggs), good fats (butter, olive oil, etc.), cereals, legumes, fruit and oilseeds (nuts, almonds). Of course, it excludes refined sugar, but also cakes, pastries, sweets, sodas and fruit juices. How to replace carbohydrates as part of a ketogenic diet?
