So I have post traumatic chronic ankle arthritis that flares up because of 1) high impact 2) dehydration and 3) inflammatory foods, especially sugar! But I like in Chamonix, and love running, cycling and climbing very long days, often covering 100km doing all three, and usually bringing loads of snacks with lots of sugar and spending the next day limping around in pain. I knew fats could be a better source but they always felt hard to eat and digest quickly on the go.
This last month I brought a few flavors of the pouches with me on my local steep bike-n-run 75km from Chamonix to Lac Emosson to Cheval Blanc and back, and on a 12-hr alpine day gaining and descending 2000km with a heavy backpack. Changing out my rest snacks for fat after 5 hours in really helped the inflammation, and both times I was surprised how good my ankle felt!
Delicious, silky smooth and satisfying. I love a snack that keeps me suffering in that good way.
I also learned about this from Alvaro at the Mont Blanc Marathon event, and let it be on record that the company culture is pretty cool too.
